Product Description

The Skylla-TG 24/50(1+1) 3-Phase 400V is a fully automatic, high-power battery charger manufactured by Victron Energy. Skylla-TG units are perfect for charging any type of 24V batteries since it allows precise adjustment of the charge voltage to match any sealed or unsealed battery system.

It is important to charge a sealed maintenance-free battery correctly to make sure that it has a long service life. Overvoltage often results in excessive gassing and venting of a sealed battery, which will eventually dry out and fail.

Skylla-TG 24/50(1+1) 3-Phase 400V battery charger is compatible with both AC and DC supply (AC-DC and DC-DC operation). Like other Skylla-TG models, this also features controlled charging. Its built-in microprocessor accurately controls the charging in 3 steps. It charges batteries in accordance with the IUoUo characteristic, which is a 3-stage charging characteristic. While charging, this device will continuously measure the battery voltage and then recalculates the charging voltage and current based on the measured values.

Because of their perfectly stabilised output voltage, the Skylla-TG high-power battery chargers can be used as a power supply, especially in cases when batteries or large buffer capacitors are not available. This device also features 2 isolated outputs, where the second output is limited to 4A and has a slightly lower output voltage, which is intended to top up a starter battery.

Victron Energy’s Skylla-TG 24/50(1+1) 3-Phase 400V also has 2 battery outputs which is suitable to charge two 24V battery banks. Its second output has a slightly lower output voltage and a limited current output of approx. 4A, which is meant to top up a starter battery.

Skylla-TG high power battery chargers also have a built-in temperature sensor and a battery voltage sense facility. The temperature sensor will decrease the charge voltage automatically as the battery temperature increases. This makes Skylla-TG models suitable for charging sealed batteries, which are prone to overcharging and drying out due to venting.

On the other hand, its battery voltage sense facility ensures that there is always the right amount of charge voltage flowing through the battery while charging. This feature is meant to compensate for the voltage loss due to cable resistance.
