Skylla-TG 24/50 GMDSS 120-240V

Product Description

Victon Energy’s Skylla-TG 24/50 GMDSS 120-240V is a fully automatic, high-power battery charger manufactured to perfectly charge any type of battery. It features precise charge voltage adjustment to suit any sealed and unsealed battery system. Sealed maintenance-free batteries require precise charge voltage in order to prevent excessive gassing and venting, which results in early drying out and failure.

The Skylla-TG models are compatible with both AC and DC supply or AC-DC and DC-DC operation. Except for the 3-phase models, the rest of the Skylla-TG models are able to accept DC supply.

The Skylla-TG 24/50 GMDSS 120-240V also has a built-in microprocessor that accurately controls the charging in 3 steps. It charges batteries in accordance with the IUoUo characteristic, which is a 3-stage charging characteristic. While charging, this device will continuously measure the battery voltage and then recalculates the charging voltage and current based on the measured values.

The Skylla-TG 24/50 GMDSS 120-240V can be used as a power supply especially when batteries or large buffer capacitors are not available, because it has a perfectly stabilised output voltage. Furthermore, this charger also has 2 isolated outputs, where the second output has a slightly lower output voltage and is limited to approx. 4A. The second output is intended to top up a starter battery.

Victron Energy’s Skylla-TG 24/50 GMDSS 120-240V also has 2 battery outputs which is suitable to charge two 24V battery banks. Its second output has a slightly lower output voltage and a limited current output of approx. 4A, which is meant to top up a starter battery.

Skylla-TG Skylla-TG 24/50 GMDSS 120-240V high power battery charger also has a built-in temperature sensor and a battery voltage sense facility. The temperature sensor will decrease the charge voltage automatically as the battery temperature increases. This makes Skylla-TG models suitable for charging sealed batteries, which are prone to overcharging and drying out due to venting.

On the other hand, its battery voltage sense facility ensures that there is always the right amount of charge voltage flowing through the battery while charging. This feature is meant to compensate for the voltage loss due to cable resistance.
