Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 230V VE.Bus

Product Description

Victron Energy’s Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 230V VE.Bus combines the functions of a charger and inverter, similar to MultiPlus models. Quattro inverter/charger units have two AC inputs with integrated switch, which allows the units to be connected to two independent AC sources such as 2 generators, or one connected to the public grid and the other to a generator. These inverters/chargers will automatically connect to the active source.

The Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 230V VE.Bus also features two AC outputs. The main output has no-break functionality. If there is a grid failure or if the shore/generator power is disconnected, the Quattro inverter/charger will take over the supply to the connected loads. This take-over happens so fast, less than 20 milliseconds, which allows the computer and other electronic equipment to continue operating without disruption. Its second output is live only when AC is available on one of the inputs of the Quattro. Loads that should not discharge the battery, like a water heater for example, can be connected to this output.

Quattro inverter/charger units can operate in parallel. Up to 6 Quattro units can be connected. For example: six units 48/10000/140 will provide 48kW / 60kVA output power and 840 Amps charging capacity. And thanks to this parallel operation, the system virtually has unlimited power.

The Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 230V VE.Bus can be configured in Split Phase and Three Phase. Two units can be configured for split phase, and three units can be configured for three phase output. But that’s not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be parallel connected to provide 144kW / 180kVA inverter power and more than 2500A charging capacity.

Victron Energy’s Quattro VE.Bus inverters/chargers features PowerControl and PowerAssist technology. PowerControl deals with limited generator, shore side or grid power. Quattro units are powerful battery chargers and will draw nearly 16A per 5 kVA Multi at 230 VAC from the generator or shore side supply. A current limit can be configured on each AC input, which will tell the unit to take account of other AC loads and use whatever is spare for charging. This prevents the generator or mains supply from being overloaded.

The Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 230V VE.Bus also has PowerAssist that takes the principle of PowerControl to a further dimension. This feature boosts the shore or generator power and allows the unit to supplement the capacity of the alternative source. The Quattro inverter/charger will ensure that insufficient shore or generator power is immediately compensated for by the power from the battery in situations where peak power is frequently required for a short period of time. When the load reduces, the unit will automatically use the spare power to recharge the battery.

The Quattro inverter/charger can also be used in off grid as well as grid connected PV and other alternative energy systems. Thus, AC power from sources such as solar energy will be available in the event of a grid failure. Users can install a loss of mains detection software to activate this feature.

Victron Energy’s Quattro VE.Bus inverters/chargers also allow system configuring. The settings can be changed in a matter of minutes with a DIP switch setting procedure in case of a stand-alone application. Parallel and three phase applications can be configured with VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software. Off grid, grid interactive and self-consumption applications, involving grid-tie inverters and/or MPPT Solar Charger scan be configured with Assistants (dedicated software for specific applications).

The Quattro 48/10000/140-100/100 230V VE.Bus inverter/charger also features several options for on-site monitoring and control, which include Battery Monitor, Multi Control Panel, Color Control GX or other GX devices, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232).

Victron Energy’s Quattro VE.Bus inverters/chargers also allow remote control and monitoring for Color Control GX or other GX devices, where system data can be stored and displayed on VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, free of charge. Furthermore, Quattro inverter/chargers also allows remote configuration. When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX or other GX device can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
