Phoenix Charger 12/30 (2+1) 120-240V

Product Description

The Phoenix Charger 12/30 (2+1) 120-240V is a high-power charger from Victron Energy that has an adaptive 4-stage characteristic namely bulk, absorption, float and storage. This device features microprocessor controlled ‘adaptive’ battery management system that can be pre-configured to suit different types of batteries. This adaptive feature will automatically optimise the process relative to the way the battery is being used.

Phoenix Chargers features variable absorption time in order to provide the right amount of charge for the batteries. This means that during shallow discharge the absorption time is kept short to prevent battery from overcharging. In cases of deep discharge, in order for the battery to be completely recharged this device will automatically increase the absorption time.

Like other Phoenix Chargers, Victron Energy’s Phoenix Charger 12/30 (2+1) 120-240V features Storage mode, which make it require less maintenance and aging is decreased when the battery is not in use. This feature kicks in whenever the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. When it is in storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2,2 V/cell (13,2 V for 12 V battery). This minimises gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. To equalise the battery, the voltage is increased back to absorption level at least once a week.

All Phoenix Charger models comes with battery temperature sensor, which will automatically decrease the charge voltage when the battery temperature increases. This feature is especially recommended when using sealed batteries and/or when vital fluctuations of battery temperature are expected. This temperature compensation feature allows the device to increase battery life.

Apart from temperature compensation feature, the Phoenix Charger 12/30 (2+1) 120-240V also has battery voltage sense that ensures that the battery always receives the correct charge voltage to compensate in cases where there is voltage loss due to cable resistance.

Victron Energy’s Phoenix Charger 12/30 (2+1) 120-240V can communicate with a computer through its RS-485 data port using the VEConfigure software which can be downloaded for free from Victron Energy website. Using this computer interface, users can customise all parameters of the charger. Furthermore, Phoenix Chargers have universal 90-265V AC input voltage range and suitable for DC supply (AC-DC and DC-DC operation) and will accept a 90-400 Volt DC supply.
